Drought, displacement and inadequate infrastructure leave many communities without reliable access to safe water and sanitation, increasing the risk of disease and placing additional pressure on vulnerable families.
ARD works with communities, local authorities and partners to provide emergency water assistance, improve access to safe water and promote better sanitation and hygiene practices.

During periods of drought and severe water shortage, ARD provides emergency water trucking to displaced and vulnerable communities. Working with local partners and community networks, water is delivered directly to communities where safe and reliable sources are limited.
ARD-supported emergency water distributions have reached displacement communities in Baidoa and other affected areas of South West Somalia.
