Integrated solutions for stronger communities
ARD works with communities and partners to address immediate needs while building long-term resilience. Our integrated programmes focus on Education, Humanitarian Assistance, Health & Nutrition, WASH, and Livelihoods & Community Resilience, combining locally led solutions with sustainable development.
Education
Expanding opportunity through quality and inclusive education. ARD works to improve access to safe, inclusive and quality education for children and young people, particularly those affected by poverty, displacement and other forms of vulnerability. Our education work includes support for schools, teachers and learners; educational materials; school infrastructure; inclusive education; school feeding partnerships; and initiatives that improve participation and retention. Humanitarian Assistance
Responding when communities need support most ARD provides locally coordinated humanitarian assistance to communities affected by drought, displacement, conflict and other emergencies. Our approach prioritises dignity, community participation and assistance targeted to the needs of vulnerable households while supporting pathways from emergency response towards recovery and resilience. Health & Nutrition
Supporting healthier communities ARD works to improve access to essential health, nutrition and wellbeing services, particularly for children, women and vulnerable households. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Safe water. Better health. Stronger communities. Access to safe water and adequate sanitation is fundamental to health, dignity and resilience. ARD supports communities through water access, sanitation and hygiene interventions designed to reduce health risks, improve living conditions and strengthen resilience to drought and other recurring shocks. Livelihoods & Community Resilience
Building self-reliance and resilient communities ARD works with vulnerable households and communities to strengthen livelihoods, recover from economic and environmental shocks, and build the capacity to withstand future challenges. Our approach combines livelihood development, economic recovery, climate resilience, community development, protection and inclusion, and local capacity strengthening. We support locally led solutions that help households improve economic security while enabling communities to become more inclusive, adaptable and resilient.
